You are a free diver with a PSS Free Diver qualification or higher. You are concentrating on improving your free diving skills, but you are also, justifiably, interested in your safety and that of your free diving buddies. This concern is completely natural and correct, particularly if you also want to make free diving a profession.
Knowing how to deal with an emergency is a fundamental requisite for any professional, as well as being a skill much appreciated by your free diving buddies! Attending the PSS Free Diving Rescue course, which specializes in assisting and rescuing free divers, is the way to learn this important skill! However, remember before you can do this you have to be sufficiently knowledgeable in general first aid procedures and this is why your instructor will ask you to attend the "First Aid- C.P.R." course, which is part of the PSS Emergency division. If you haven't done so yet, make the most of this opportunity to become a rescuer, capable and well-prepared for any eventuality!
On successfully completing the course you will be awarded the PSS Free Diving Rescue qualification certifying your preparation in assisting and rescuing a free diver in difficulty, within the limits established for recreational free diving and those imposed by the free diving qualifications you already hold and in environmental conditions similar to those you encountered in your training.
Possession of the Free Diving Rescue certification is a fundamental requisite for attending the PSS professional courses for free divers.
