You are a diver with a PSS Advanced Open Water Diver certification or higher. You are concentrating on improving your skills, but you are also interested in your safety and that of your buddies. This concern is completely natural and justifiable, particularly if you also want to make diving a profession.
Knowing how to deal with an emergency is a fundamental requisite for any professional, as well as being an ability much appreciated by your buddies! The specialty course in assisting and rescuing divers, the PSS "Scuba Rescue Diver" course, is the way to aquire this skill! However, remember that you must also be sufficiently prepared in general first aid and this is why your instructor will ask you to attend the "First Aid - C.P.R." course in the PSS Emergency division. If you haven't already done so, make the most of this opportunity to become a skilful first aider trained to deal with any situation!
On successfully completing this course you will be awarded certification of your training in assisting and rescuing a diver in dificulty, within the limits established for recreational diving, and those established for the diving certification you already hold and in environmental conditions similar to those you encountered during your training.
The Scuba Rescue Diver certification is a fundamental requisite for attending the PSS professional courses.
