Why this course
You move from leadership to full teaching. You train communication, group management and the PSS teaching method to deliver effective lessons and safe dives, with clear feedback and continuous improvement.
- PSS + EVO teaching: remedial lessons, assessments and effective debriefings.
- Targeted practice: teaching in confined and open water with measurable objectives.
- Guiding and safety: you plan, organize and conduct recreational dives.
How it works
With EVO you structure the theory; then you teach and evaluate in real or simulated sessions: remedial theory lessons, confined-water techniques, and open-water techniques/surface skills, up to the Instructor Exam with formal evaluation. The program is conducted by an Instructor Trainer with support from an IT Staff Instructor.
- Theory: remedial lessons with required minimum scores and online verification.
- Confined water:briefings, demonstrations, assessment of multiple OWD techniques.
- Open water:briefing/execution/debriefing of OWD techniques and full rescue.
Essential prerequisites
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Prerequisites: Divemaster; Scuba Rescue Diver Plus; Deep Diver Plus; active First Aid and CPR; active Oxygen in Diving Emergency; documented experience and logged dives according to the course rules.

- Ability to teach and assess theory, confined water and open water.
- Planning, organization and conducting of recreational dives for all levels.
- Effective supervision of Assistant Instructors according to role and standards.
- Professional‑level communication, briefings/debriefings and risk management.
The certification
Attests that you canteach and assess students also in open water and request their certifications; moreover, you can plan, organize, and conduct recreational courses below your level (with any specific qualifications for certain specialties) and supervise Assistant Instructors.
Standards and recognition
The course complies with ISO 24802-2 (Scuba Instructor). PSS certifications are internationally recognized: PSS Worldwide is a member of the RSTC, the consortium that brings together the leading scuba training agencies worldwide.
